Memories may appear in ordinary moments: a familiar phrase, a favorite place, a recipe, a song, or a value you carry forward. Sometimes these reminders comfort us; sometimes they bring sadness. Often, they do both.
There is no right way to stay connected to someone you miss. You might talk about them, keep a tradition, write a letter, visit a meaningful place, or quietly notice the ways they helped shape who you are.
Continuing to love someone and continuing to live are not opposing acts. Over time, you may find ways to make room for both.
Take what is useful to you and leave what is not. There is no single belief or response required here.
